Gruyor has a relatively small, very localized community in the capital city (only city) of Labyrinth. The weather is consistently dreary, as its gray clouds never really dissipate. The rain has done wonders for the plant life though, and there is greenery as far as the eye can see.

Geography

Gruyor is a large mountainous island to the south west of Sonora. On the North half of Gruyor is the Whispering Mountains, these tall and skinny rock formations are found nowhere else in the world. Due to the shape of the mountains, people say the wind blowing through it sounds like distant whispers. The country's only city, Labyrinth, lies within a basin on the outer edge of the mountains. Past the city, further south, are some higher elevation flatlands where there are a handful of pastoral homesteads.

The white beaches of Gruyor are located in the "lower jaw" region. The water within the "mouth" of Gruyor tends to be colder than the ocean outside of it.

Climate

The climate of Gruyor is temperate and oceanic, and tends to be very changeable. The winters are mild but the summers tend to be long and wet. Generally the weather is moist year-round, and as a result, the land is very green and foliage very dense.

History

Before the Age of Flame, when dragons ruled Sibyl, there was one particular luck dragon, Aminey that lorded over Gruyor. She sympathized with the humanoids and allowed them to build on her land, they built a city called Labyrinth which became large and prosperous. During the wars it was a safe-haven for the humanoids as she protected them fiercly- as a mother protects her brood.

Ultimately the dragon was betrayed by a group of land hungry humanoids from Labyrinth. They killed her and established a new ruler of Gruyor, this is the bloodline that would eventually lead to King Chrys. The dissenters, who were against this violence against Aminey and the new monarchy, wore ritualistic paint and tattoos that resemble her markings to honor her memory and her kindness. Though the original meaning may've been lost on current generations, some families in Labyrinth still bear her marks.
