Abyssal Tehikoito are an offshoot of their shallow sea cousins. Not much is known about them - or of them, as the only recorded sightings of them have been bodies that have washed ashore.

Physical Description

The dark waters and lower oxygen content in their part of the ocean allow for more interesting body plans. Some have completely lost their legs to assist in swimming, others have evolved interesting ways to lure in prey, etc..

Most Abyssal Tehikoito are extremely sensitive to light, their eyes more suited to the dark depths below. Their color vision is limited to blues, but some have developed red light sensitivity.

Abbysal tehikoito are theorized to have extended lifespans.

Range and Population

It is unclear how many abyssal tehikoito live in any given area. Deep sea technology is not yet advanced enough, and what few attempts there has been have ended with the vessel and crew being taken out by an unknown entity.

Culture

Their shallow water cousins have no idea how the abyssal tehikoito live, what kind of society they have, etc.. Land walkers have even less of an idea.
