Physical Description

Tehikoito are amphibious, bipedal fish people. They have both gills that can manifest around the neck and/or along the ribs, and lungs. Their skin tends to err on the side of silvers, blues and greens but can resemble most any fish. They usually look like fish that share their same environment.

Their hair is less what we understand as hair and more fan-like fin membranes or individual strands made of the same material. These strands tend to be thicker than the hair we are accustomed to, but can easily be mistaken for normal hair. They also have fin-like ears and the potential to have fins elsewhere on their bodies such as along the arms, legs, and spine

Some have scaled bodies but not all. The amount of fish traits they possess, particularly in the head region, can be variable. Eyes (size, placement etc..), lips, nose, even head shape are all things that may or may not be quite fishy. They have a chance to have a fish-like tail and/ or horns that resemble coral, but not all tehikoito have these traits.

To reproduce, female tehikoito lay eggs that are first fertilized internally. Baby tehikoito hatch in a vulnerable larval stage where they have no arms, legs, and are still connected to their yolk sac, as they still rely on its nutrients. Their bodies are semi transparent at this point. They reach a juvenile state that more resembles the adult forms of tehikoitos at around a year old.

Tehikoito have an average, human-like lifespan, reaching young adulthood at around 18-20 years old.

Tehikoito are amphibious creatures. Though, when outside of their ocean home, or some other moist climate, they tend to dry out and become uncomfortable.

In Game

Amphibious
Tehikoito can breathe on land and underwater. They do not need to worry about drowning or suffocating.

Bubbled
Once per session, a tehikoito can spend 1 AP to summon a bubble-like shield. It is sealed with air or water on the inside and has 3 hp. It can fit one large creature, two medium, or three small.

Fish Flakes
Tehikoito are sensitive to dry heat, and become brittle if they don’t wet their bodies at least once a day. (Penalty removed if in a humid climate.) Takes an additional HP when damaged until moistened.
